Ellen Pieper

Account Executive

Ellen Pieper joined Lightspeed in 2010. In her current role as Account Executive, she oversees sales and account activities for a diverse portfolio of market research companies, advertising agencies and consulting firms. She focuses on relationship building and consultative selling, defines and scopes projects for online consumer panel work, and specializes in developing creative solutions to solve clients’ diverse online research needs.

Ellen earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia University and completed the University of Georgia's Principles of Market Research certificate program. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Chapter of the Marketing Research Association (MRA), and in 2016 achieved the professional designation of Professional Researcher Certification (PRC) from the PRC Board of the MRA. Ellen is active in the market research community and has presented at both TMRE and the SWMRA’s Annual Las Vegas Conference.

I recently had the opportunity to lecture at a class of students in the Masters of Market Research program at the University of Texas Arlington. Despite working for years in an industry where I live and breathe sampling every day, I looked back at my old textbook to see what it said about sampling. I noticed a scribbled note I had taken years ago: “No one thinks about sampling, until it goes wrong!!”

Hello from the Mobile Side

Recently, at one of her concerts, Adele called out a fan for having their phone in front of their face for the entire show. She told the fan to be 'in the moment' and enjoy the concert. While I haven’t been lucky enough to score a ticket to an Adele concert, I recently attended the 2016 Market Research in the Mobile World North America conference.
